Night at the Opera

Once I was invited to an opera while I was do a little work/vacay in NYC. It was very interesting, in a good way! One of the only difficulties I had, other than understanding what they were singing about, was deciding what to wear.

I ended up wearing a long and gorgeous eggplant colored gown I found at a Macy's the day of. After observing the other ladies in attendance, dressing for a night at the opera is like a classy and sophisticated upgrade from prom and rapidly approaching an awards' red carpet. Really fun for those of us who don't get to dress up much!

Anyway, here is a sleek and simple look that is more than opera appropriate.

Estate Earrings, $24.99, Girl Props; Crinkle Chiffon Gown, $340, Nordstrom; Shield of Diamonds Ring, $14, All The Rage; Frame Pouch Clutch,$40, Nordstrom; Unlisted 'Uptown Girl' Sandal, $45, Macy's;

***NOTE FOR YOUR DATE: Don't want to wear a tux? Well, a black suit, white button down shirt and white tie will do just fine. The illusion of a tux without the fuss!

Stay Stylin'
