Fashion Trends for 2012

With a new year approaching it’s already time to start looking ahead to a new fashion year, with plenty of twists, turns, and surprises in store for 2012. You never want to play roulette when it comes to fashion (although you can click here to try a few spins at a real roulette table), so it can definitely pay to take a quick look around and see what top designers and other fashion guru’s are predicting for 2012.

Designer Lilit Margaryan is predicting that romanticism will reign in 2012, and that floral-design clothes will once again be in vogue. Natural fabrics and miniskirts will be popular items, with men looking sleek and stylish wearing military elements and suits. Women’s and men’s styles may often merge in 2012, though, with the androgynous look becoming more and more popular, especially on the women’s side of the aisle.

As far as striking colors, look out for the color orange, as it’s making its way into Sephora’s limited edition spring cosmetic line and is one of the most requested swatches according to color expert Pantone. The specific color Pantone is featuring is  "tangerine tango", which was added to Pantone's index of 2,100 colors based on feedback from retailers and designers (and included in the new Sephora line.

As is the case every year, fashion is like a roulette game there will be surprises and flops. So for many, the best idea is to remain flexible throughout the year and simply keep an eye out for what people are wearing. If you like the look and think you can pull it off, go for it; confidence and being comfortable can help you pull off any look whether or not the “experts” say it is in or out that year.
